RIDGECREST, Calif. - A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Monday in the Ridgecrest area.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) says the quake was reported at 2:15 p.m. about 9 miles east-northeast of Ridgecrest.
It was recorded at a depth of about 5.35 miles.
No injuries were reported.

There were no immediate reports of damage. While there are many variables involved, geologists say damage does not usually occur until the earthquake magnitude reaches somewhere above 4 or 5.
